Groceries

So, I stopped at this potted mum (on the left) this morning and thought to myself. "Gee, these are going to last for another two months, how very nice," and off I went to the grocery store. Having three loads to carry in the house upon my return, I left the car door open, sauntered in with the first load and the second trip in, noticed blossoms all over the deck, where the potted mum is. Hands on my hips, thought to myself, "They're all gone....or is it just the angle, maybe the other side is better". Probably 2-3 minutes of staring, I looked to my right and sitting there, not 2 metre's away is a buck. Thanking me for, yet, another belly full of delicious blossoms. I grab the camera, step outside and he poses a wink for me. Stepping back to capture another angle, I look behind. The wink was not a me, it was a his doe. She too has a belly full and now polished off the leaves on the maple tree below the guest deck. Oh yes, the fawn. The fawn too was just finishing the last leaves of my potted hostas. In another photo, the fawn is developing antlers. Two small bumps on his head.
Gardening with Deer. Rather an oxymoron isn't it.
