Yellow Iris and Smiles

Having spent much of the day outside, I just noticed this iris has two colours and two blooms. The yellow and white is stunning. My California lilac is also eye catching. Having 3 banks cascading in blue, the bees are just humming, quite the sound when you get close by. The turkey vultures have been after the raven fledglings and rocky racoon seems to upset the entire forest of creatures just by being himself. The sounds in the ravine have kept myself and the camera in full alert.

Our guests last night were here just 4 nights ago. Having loved it so much the first time, they called for a second night. As luck would have it, I had just baked a cake, so a nice treat for their arrival. Oh yes, ice-tea season has arrived.

Tomorrow, Saturday June 16, 2007, is the first Gibson's Farmers market. We are very excited. Location is in Upper Gibsons, behind the swimming pool on the grassy field. Really, its the small things in life that make us smile.
