The Excavation

Everyone needs to have a wiggle of tail feathers and feel droplets of water running down their back, even crows. This is an action packed bird, and tend to leave a bare bowl behind.

We disscourage crows as they raid other birds nests. Here, one crow takes a bath while the other sits high in a cedar tree watching for us. If it sees us, either in the house or outside, it calls once and they both fly off. I am sure there is a 'dare' factor; "Catch me if you can." I am sure about allot of things and please do not tell me otherwise, you'll spoil my fun.

  • Updates:

  • The two raven fledglings have mastered the art of aerial manoeuvres.
  • There seems to be two sapsucker fledglings. Once a day I hear their voices in the ravine.
  • The orb spiders gathered all the silk from the leaf, built a silk line from the leaf to a house post. This line was about two metres in length. Walking like soldiers in procession they slowly made their way up. This was at dusk, in the morning they were all gone, leaving not a trace.
