Alaska Cruise Ships

It is cruise ship season. Most days, about 19:00, we see a few cruise ships pass by. They leave Vancouver for Alaska. One would think it was common place, yet no, everyday we get out our binoculars to have a look. Around 05:00 they return, all the lights glimmering like strands of pearl necklaces adorning her.

Our Raven fledglings have left the nest. The nest was in our 200' grand fir at the entrance. Have not seen the nest, too far up, sure could hear when their meals arrived. Now that they have left, the parents pay close watch. I just love this time of year. We sit on the deck at 06:00 listening, just listening to life around us.

Our guests are here for the birth of their 6th grandchild. Born May 29, 2007. The smiles on the grandparents faces are infectious. Today is grandpa's birthday, what a gift, a baby girl.
